Setback: Court documents revealed that at the top of 2009, pop music superstar Rihanna had an estimated $11 million in cash. By the end of that same year, she was left with only $2 million. In 2012, the “Rude Boy” singer filed a lawsuit against her accountants for poor bookkeeping and mismanaging of her funds. The suit was filed in Manhattan Court in New York City.
Comeback: The Barbadian artist stood strong during the back and forth litigation. Eventually Rihanna won a $10 million settlement against her former accountants. The multi-platinum selling artist learned the power of diversification and launched her own cosmetic and lingerie brands: Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty. The “Umbrella” singer reached Billionaire status in 2021.
